Matti Schneider a travaillé pour le bien public en occupant diverses fonctions au fil des ans : dans des startups à impact social, en tant que fonctionnaire au sein du groupe de travail sur les données ouvertes du Premier ministre français, Étalab, en tant que cofondateur de l’incubateur de startups d’État beta.gouv.fr, et en tant qu’auteur de documents sur l’innovation publique et la gouvernance des biens communs (communs.mattischneider.fr).
Il a constitué des équipes et des outils au service des citoyens et de ceux qui transforment les gouvernements dans le monde entier, en fournissant des logiciels libres et gratuits tels que Mes Aides, OpenFisca et OpenTermsArchive.
Après un tour du monde d’un an à la recherche de différentes approches de l’innovation publique sur trois continents, il exploite désormais l’expertise numérique à des fins diplomatiques et réglementaires.
